How To Customize – Blogspot

Create Jump Link

To Create the first leg of the link:

Update Tips on how to customize blogspot blog posts with drump links from one page to the other for the purpose of references.
1. Sign-in to your blog.

2. Open the page you would like to link to.

3. Copy the link address.

4. Click on Design.

5. From the left menu, click on Post or Page (depending on the one you would like to link from).

6. Click on the caption of the post you would like to link from.

7. Find the word or phrase from where you would like to make the link. (To speed-up your search, you may use the ctrl+F (PC) Cmd +F (Mac) keyboard command to bring up search field and enter the work or phrase in the pop-up text field).

8. Highlight the word or phrase you would like to link.

9. Click on the link icon at the top of the page.

10. On the link field in the pop-up box paste the link you copied.

11. At the end of the link you paste type # and the ID name of the link {For example if you are linking “Requirement” to a list of required instructions you may add to the link #requirement. Hence it would read https://pageaddress.html#requirement (where page address is the address of your webpage)}.

12. Add a check in the box beside Open link in a new window (if required).

13. Click Apply

14. To the right of the top menu bar, click Update to save change.

To create the second leg of the link:

1. Click the blogger back arrow at the top left of the page.

2. Select the title of the post you would like to link to.

3. Click the down arrow beside the pencil icon at the left of the top menu bar.

4. Select HTML View

6. Using the Ctl+F command as described above, find the word or heading you would like to link to.

7. To the left of the word type <span id=”your ID word”></span> (Example as per example at 11 above, under “To create the first leg of the link" <span id=”requirement”></span>. When using multiple words as ID, they must be joined (for example "first requirement" should be typed as "firstrequirement". Space will not work in your link.

8. To the right of the top menu bar, click Update to save change.

Check to make sure your link works correctly.
